Philly Area Yoga has confirmed the lineup of presenters for the Namas Day Yoga Festival on October 3, 2015. Taking advantage again of Sykes Student Union at West Chester University, the bi-annual event will host Alex, Auder, Sigal Brier, Adam Marcus, Kathleen Guidotti-Metzker, Sally Miller, Mark Nelson, Leo Rising, Marni Sclaroff and Nicole Taylor. Also returning to the program are favorites like Colleen DeVirgiliis, Johnny Gillespie, Christine Hebstadt, Noah Julian, Lex Peters and Sati Rose.
New this year, Philly Area Yoga is extending the learning opportunities to yoga teachers and students alike by offering full-day intensive workshops on Sunday, October 4. Registration is separate from Namas Day. Presenters include Alex Auder, Johnny Gillespie, Marni Sclaroff, Nicole Taylor and Andrew Wicklander.
The program touches upon many aspects of yoga featuring the superb talent of local and regional teachers. Physical (asana) practices will include Yin, Kest Flow, Kundalini, acro, inversions and arm balancing. Attendees will also benefit from presentation and training in other “limbs” of yoga such as meditation, breath work, healing through ayurveda and self-reflection. Presenter bios can be viewed here.
Namas Day founder Mary Fetterman expects 350 yogis and heath-minded individuals to join the event this fall, which will again include an array of vendors and exhibitors geared towards this eco-conscious audience. “Our community has been very supportive of this event, as shown by steady growth. We hear them and that’s why we have expanded our offerings to meet their demands.” Sunday’s workshops will help yoga enthusiasts dig deeper into their knowledge and application of the practice through some of the region’s talent. “The quality of teachers in our area proves that one does not need to travel far or invest heavily to get training that is going to be of value to them.” Attendees have dubbed the event “magical and beyond amazing,” and Mary and her team are planning to deliver that same satisfaction level and more in October. Registration opens July 20.
