Stretching is like brushing your teeth. It’s good for you, but you don’t do it often enough. Especially if you’re a runner. Well, it need not be so easily overlooked. Go through a local “Yoga For Runners” program and you’ll learn both the value, and the best means, of stretching after every single run. I myself am terrible about stretching. Even though it only takes a few minutes, and I pay for neglect with stiffness, rarely do I actually take the time.
Hence my appreciation for the “Yoga For Runners” class I took earlier this month at Vertical Runner and Nishkama Yoga. On that one occasion, stretching was an integral part of the process.
